- Dec 28, 2013 I received a new LG HD TV for Christmas and it wants me to either use an HDMI cable or a coaxial cable. My receiver does not have a coaxial out that I can find and when I use the HDMI cable the TV cannot find any channels. When a connect the DVD player via the r/g/y component cables it works just fine. Any thoughts? Do I need a new receiver?
